Russell Leigh Doty, Jr. was born ca1942 in Great Falls to Russelll Leigh Doty, Sr. The senior Doty was born in 1912, shortly after his parents moved to Great Falls, Montana, from Sauk Centre, Minnesota. He worked for the WPA until he gained employment with Mountain Bell as a janitor; he worked his way up to supervising service forman. He retired in 1975, and died in 1990.
